This week, my goal was to not get so stressed out and to get my work done by a descent time—not wait until Sunday to complete them all. I haven’t been as stressed this week as I was last week which is really weird because I had 2 tests this week. I think it helped not having a lot of assignments in this class. About my second goal, all I have left to do is my genre. I am very glad that I did the peer edit last week. Even though I did it because I misunderstood the assignment, it turned out better that way. Although, my genre will probably take the longest to do, I plan on doing it over the weekend when I have the most time.
This week’s assignments basically focused on getting more information about our topic and just to work on our MRP. I haven’t had much time to get more information, but, like I said, I will do that this weekend. Which, while I am thinking about it, I am a little confused on what type of resources we need. I’m not sure if we need to have a certain amount of library sources or if we can get information off of a reliable webpage…I need to find that out before I do anymore research though.

This week I did not accomplish any of my goals. In fact, I did the exact opposite. This week I wanted to get my assignments done before Friday or at least most of them & my other goal was to not get so worried about this class. Obviously, I did not get my first goal done. Everyday this week I planned to work on 315 stuff, but when it came time to, I either had other work to do for classes that were due the next day, or I just could not bring myself to do them. And my other goal was not even close to being reached. This week was probably the most stressful week I’ve had. Let me tell ya, this week was not fun! I just felt like I had so much to do and could not get it done. When I first looked at all the assignments, I wasn’t worried because there weren’t that many, but then I found out that the next weeks assignments were also due at the end of this week… so of coarse I started worrying again. I really wasn’t looking forward to doing the first genre, but I ended up doing a Cinguain poem and an Acrostic poem ( I can’t figure out which one to use)—I actually just got done with it, and it wasn’t that bad. I haven’t started on the Week 7 assignments so I guess I’ll see how that goes… oh boy!! In conclusion, my goal next week will be to 1)get the assignments done before Friday & 2)NOT stress so much!!!

Well today is Sunday; so obviously, I am a little more behind than usual. I’m still doing all right so far thoughJ. Well this week I wanted to figure out what my topic was going to be and how I needed to change it. During class, after talking to Mrs. McCommas, I figured out how I could narrow my topic. Instead of trying to research everything that happens to Parkinson’s disease patient’s speech (respiration, phonation, neurology, etc.), I am going to research what ways Parkinson’s disease impacts speech comprehension. Once I left class on Wed. I felt very confident and was reassured after talking to my teacher. However, after I went home I started working on assignments and tried to do a library search, I became very worried—and still am. I am so afraid that I am not going to be able to find enough information on my topic. So far everything I find seems to be about treatment. I have yet to find a web page or library source (from my library search) that just gives information or even talks a lot about specific neurological problems. I’m not sure if I’m just not looking in the right places or what!!! I find it very hard to believe that there is not more information out there about the disease--not medicines or treatments—but just direct information that describes the disease and gives a medical explanation. I have tried looking up different searches that would lead me to what I want, but I’m still not getting what I am looking for. I’ve tried typing in ‘Parkinson’s disease’, ‘Parkinson’s disease and speech’, ‘Parkinson’s disease and speech therapy’, ‘ Parkinson’s disease and neurology’, and some others. I thought about changing my whole topic, but then I think I’d be even further behind. So… that’s my big dilemma. I’m going to keep tryin to find information, if anything I guess this will help my searching skills …to look on the bright side…if not, I’m in trouble!!
