This week I wanted to feel more comfortable talking through MOO during our class Wed. evenings and I wanted to work on making my journal entries a little better. My first goal was accopmlished; Abbye, Cindy, and I sat in the computer lab in Smith hall (we didn't even try to go into a different computer lab--fear we might be in a classroom again..oops). We all logged in just fine (with some minor problems--but nothing too big) and got some good questions answered. I didn't really have any certain questions, but some people who are ahead of me on their assignments or research, their questions will be helpful along the way. As far as all three of us being in the computer lab together...we had a good time. It not only is more enjoyable, but it is comforting to know that if anything goes wrong we can help each other out. As far as my other goal, I am trying to follow instructions more careful and include more in my journals. Did I accomplish that goal? I guess we'll see.....:)
The assignments this week seemed to be less stressful than the prior weeks. I have not done my Project Prospectus, which is one that I am a little worried about--I guess that's why I put it off til last.
I am a little concered about my research topic. I am not sure if I am going in the right direction. As I was researching I found some information that questioned my topic. My topic only questions the speech problems Parkinson's disease patients have, but I think that I should include more than speech. What about swallowing and communication in general. As an SPL all those problems will be of my concern and will be useful for me to know. However, will that make my topic too broad?
Well, I'm hoping I will have the question answered by the end of next week. I guess I'll just see how it goes:)

Well this week I tried to figure out what I was going to do my research on. I chose Parkinson's disease. I am very interested in that subject because I know people who have been affected by it and have been hearing a lot about it. I started off with my essential question being pretty broad, but after we met for class some people gave me some really good ideas, and I was able to be more specific. I am very
nervous about this project because I am not the best researcher; however, I am interested in this area and hope that it will be reflected through my work.

Other than the research, I enjoyed the class on Wednesday. I had never had class in a chat room setting. Besides Abbye and I going into a classroom instead of a computer lad, it went well.

Well, I guess I will just continue working on my research paper and try to focus on that.
That's all for this week:)

My goal this week was to get all my assignments done before this weekend--and it looks like I am going to accomplish it!! I still have one more to do, along with this journal, but after that I'll be done. I tried to get a lot done in the begining of the week because I knew most of my extra time would be then, and I would feel a lot better the sooner I got the assignments done. The main reason that I wanted to get the work done early is because today is my 21st birthday(woo hoo!!) and I knew that I wouldn't want to do homework over the weekend. I felt pretty comfortable with all the assignments that were due this week. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do my research on, though (obviously, that is the assignment that I haven't done yet).
Well I'm going to try to think of something I find interesting so that I'll be done by today & reach my goal......wish me luck:)
